01 · The year
When in the Indian year do you give silver?
Almost every North-Indian occasion has a silver gift that belongs to it — some fixed to the lunar calendar, most set by a family's own muhurat. The table below is the whole year on one page: the occasion, what silver suits it, a rough weight to budget against, the order quantity, and when to place the order so the piece arrives in time.
We have laid it out in the order it actually arrives — Karwa Chauth first on 29 October 2026, then the Diwali cluster of Dhanteras on 6 November and Diwali itself on 8 November, then the life-cycle occasions that can fall in any month, the winter and spring wedding season, and finally Akshaya Tritiya, which rolls the year over into the next spring.
| Occasion | When (2026–27) | What silver to give | Rough weight | Order size | Order by |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Karwa Chauth | 29 Oct 2026 | Silver thali, karwa & chalni set; a coin for the sargi | 150–400 g set · coin 10–20 g | From 1 piece | Early October |
| Dhanteras | Fri 6 Nov 2026 | Lakshmi-Ganesh coin, small idol, kalash | coin 10–50 g · idol 100–500 g | 1 piece · MOQ 10 bulk | Mid-October |
| Diwali | Sun 8 Nov 2026 | Diya sets, coins, dry-fruit boxes (client & family gifting) | diya set 60–200 g · coin 20–50 g | MOQ 20 corporate | Mid-October |
| Griha Pravesh | Muhurat-led · year-round | Lakshmi-Ganesh idol, kalash, nameplate, coin | idol 100–500 g · kalash 150–300 g | From 1 piece | 3–4 wks before muhurat |
| Annaprashan | 6–8 months · muhurat-led | Silver bowl, spoon & glass set; first-feed thali | 50–150 g set | From 1 piece | 3–4 wks ahead |
| Godh Bharai | 7th–8th month · muhurat-led | Silver rattle, coin, small bowl, anklets | 30–120 g | From 1 piece | 3–4 wks ahead |
| Wedding season | Nov–Feb & Apr–May | Return-gift coins & bowls, trousseau pieces, idols | coin 20–60 g · idol 200–800 g | MOQ 30 return gifts | 4–6 wks ahead |
| Akshaya Tritiya | ~Apr/May 2027 | Coins, small bars, compact idols | 10–100 g | MOQ 10 pure 999 | 3–4 wks ahead |
Two things are worth reading off that table straight away. The first is how tightly the autumn packs together: Karwa Chauth, Dhanteras and Diwali land inside eleven days, which is why a single order placed in mid-October usually has to carry all three. The second is that the muhurat-led occasions — housewarming, first-rice, the baby shower — have no fixed square on the calendar, so the four-week rule is the only thing keeping them from becoming last-minute.
“A gift is never really late in the abstract. It is late against a date — so we plan backwards from the date, never forwards from the impulse.

How far ahead should you order?
There are three speeds, and knowing which one you are on decides everything. Ready-stock pieces ship same-day across Delhi NCR on ready-stock pieces, for orders confirmed before 2 PM. That covers a coin, a standard idol, or a boxed diya set when the occasion has crept up on you. Anything made-to-order, engraved, or ordered in quantity runs to 3–4 weeks from order confirmation, and once dispatched it is 4–7 days pan-India once dispatched.
So the rule we give every client is the same: for a fixed date, count back four weeks and treat that as the confirmation deadline, not the delivery date. For Diwali on 8 November 2026 that means confirming by around the 11th of October; for Dhanteras two days earlier, a touch sooner. Miss the window and you are not without options — you simply move onto ready stock, and the choice narrows to what is already made.
